  12. I've got a Viglen PC which has the IO chip on the motherboard. The chip appears
  13. to be a "C & T 82C712". I'm looking to buy a high speed (external) modem and
  14. would like to know whether this chip is "fast" (if it's not then I'll need to
  15. get a new IO card with a 16550 UART.) I've tried several local computer stores
  16. but nobody can tell me anything about this chip.

  18. Does anyone have any useful info on this chip, or maybe you could point me
  19. in the right direction?
